The Royal Mint has apprently recut its reverse dies for the 2007 gold sovereign, although retaining Benedetto Pistrucci's reverse design, the entire image has been reworked so that multiple details are now slightly different. Does anyone know why a Mint would recut its dies in this way? Also, the current 2007 sovereigns apparently show even less detail on the Queen's head than previous issues - does anyone know of any reason why the standard of workmanship on UK gold coins (bullion versions) now appear to be declining? If you want to see a detailed list of the changes made to the 2007 sovereigns, go to the following website: www.goldsovereigns.co.uk
