Again, I apolgize for no pictures... Has anyone seen a Wyoming quarter with absolutely no detail, but the outline of the cowboy and horse? It looks really weird and does not appear to be post-mint, but who knows. It looks totally smooth and even, as if the quarter was meant to be that way...
Should have searched for this first... First time I have started collecting these quarters and looks like Wyoming chinced out on their design and put absolutely no detail intot he cowboy and horse. That coin looks so plain, I thought it had to be an error!
Sorry, have not stopped laughing at myself yet. Is there any story as to why this is easily the most plain and boring quarter. I saw some proposed designs when googling it and most looked much more appealing than this one...
Maybe they were looking ahead and wanted a design so that even when it is old and worn out it will look just as good as it did when it was new.
If you ever drive through Wyoming, you will see that image everywhere. And yes, there are no details.:smile
I believe that the bronco & rider are on the Wyoming license plate and the same silhouette is all over the state. Bruce
I figured everyone would get a kick out of this, once I figured out it was in fact the correct design. I have actually periodically collected a lot of different coins, but this is the first time I paid attention to all those state quarters. If I saw a variety on a cent or nickel, I would most likely know, but on a quarter, I have no clue!
