People I ve talked with had said and I also checked out myself that the 2006W $50 buffs have more detail than the newer ones o8 and 09,they are too frosty! When it comes down to it, collectors they want a BEAUTIFUL coin with EXTREME DETAIL on the coin they are getting ESPECIALLY a coin like the 2006W $50 gold buffalo, the others seem like a" hurry up and mint these 2008w and 2009w buffalos and get em out of here" type coins,I swear it, look at the years and compare them, even if the mintage is a little higher, they were the FIRST ones made, MORE DETAIL, NOT the OVERFROSTY look. The 2006W gold buffalos have more future historical value because they were the first, the rest are just TAGALONGS,"whoopdeedo!" I trust what the old timers, and older numismatists say,and most of them agreed and said the same thing I mentioned. But ...different coins appeal to different people.
Im for more detail, you should really compare both the o8 loooks like the fake one on that tv advertising for 50 bucks replica!?
the copy one really look real. that does not mean the real look like copy. it is the copy look like real. as for 2006w buff. proof. this one is too many. 246,267 pieces produced. 2008w proof is only 11,060 pieces. based on single piece with original box and c.o.a. price for 2008w AGB proof is $3,600.00 price for 2006w AGB proof is $1,316.00 (apmex) mint selling 2009w AGB proof at $1,410.00. but the spot price is over $1,100.00 right now. last at $1,135.00 (london close). if stay that price. the 2009w AGB will be $1,460.00.
WOW the 1 oz. 2008 W AGB Proof is selling for $3,600!? If I remember correctly I paid around $1000 for it in 2008 from the Mint.
