Hey guys. I no NOTHING about paper money but i was wondering if 2006 was some sort of oberproduction year. Every single time i get ones back in change they are always 2006. My sister is trereasurer of her grade and she had about a hundred ones and atleast 90 of them were 2006

I don't know much about paper either but from what I know, a one only lasts about 18 months, so older issues are less common in circulation. Also, a series 2006 bill wasn't necessarily printed in 2006. They printed 2006's until 2009(I'm not 100% on that, they may still be printing them)

The current $1 series (2009) started being printed in Feb.2010. The series 2006 $1 started being printed in March 2007 and ran through November 2010. The BEP printed over 9.5 BILLION 2006 $1 notes. The series it replaced, 2003A were printed between May 2005 and January 2008, and had a total of almost 8 BILLION notes. I would suspect the series 2006 to be the dominant series seen in circulation today. You can check all the print totals and dates here;http://www.uspapermoney.info/serials/

There is no U.S. currency dated 2008. You probably have a 2003 or 2006 or 2009 with a bit of ink bleed on the date. You can verify the date by the signatures: 2003 would have Marin-Snow, 2003A would have Cabral-Snow, 2006 would have Cabral-Paulson, and 2009 would have Rios-Geithner.
