I ordered two 2006-w ASE on Dec 10, 2006. The status on the mint's website says 'backordered expected ship date March 14, 2007'. The expected ship was orginially Dec 24, 2006 and has been slipping steadly forward. I was worried that my coin order would be canceled so I called the US mint. I spoke with a US mint supervisor and he claimed that the coins would be minted to the order limit and that their would be no chance that the order would be canceled. Is that true?
Tarus. information I have received, which is reliable, is that they oversold the silver eagles. I ordered mine on 12/8 and do not expect to get mine. I do not wish to be "mr Meanie" but felt you deserved some kind of an answer. Could I be wrong, "yes" but do not think so. As far as obtaining factual information from the supervisor level, my results have been mixed on that. I have learned much more about my orders on coin talk that I ever have from the mint. good luck Tarus, hope I am wrong.
