2006 quarter - obverse is copper

    My wife picked this up in some change. She showed it to a local dealer who offered her $50 for it on the spot. I think she should have taken it, but I don't know anything. Some of you may help me with this dispute.

    It looks like the planchet may be missing a clad layer. If that's the case it is very collectable and worth a premium.

    It appears to be an Unclad Planchet Error. One sure way is to weigh it. I think current US Quarters weigh about 5.670 Grams, so if its an unclad planchet error it should weigh less than that. How much less should it weigh? I'm not really sure....
