I have purchased many 2006 P Reverse Proof PF69 NGC's on ebay over the past 5-6 months. I won a Early Releases 2 months or so ago. There is nothing on the population report for it on ngc's website... It is a 20th Anniversary Coin but where it normally says "Silver Dollar Set" it says "Early Releases". I will include an image of this! Any thoughts? Anyone else have any? What could it be worth? Please reply with any comments... -Wes http://www.raykomkacoins.com/images/early-releases.JPG
Early Release is what NGC used to replace the label First Strike that they used to place on some slabs.
try this, they are listed....nevermind it does not show that...............that maybe an error on there part!
The early release designation is just a marketing tool that these TPG's are using to make people "think" they have something special. There is nothing about any of these type coins that can prove that statement and if they did it still means nada! Sad to say that this type of hype will give a coin a premium for sale to a collector that has little knowledge of numismatics. Personally I love the reverse proof coin but I refuse to pay the TPG fees in order to impress someone. I don't sell I collect. Therefore I have no use for this marketing tool.
They just don't have a separate designation for it on the pop report. The coins are included elsewhere.
Yeah I got excited after seeing some guy on ebay trying to sell 2006 ms70 ngc blue labels for 6500 and like 19k....(still I do not believe they will pay that much) Maybe he is trying to make the market! Thanks for every one's input. I do not get much into the modern slabs myself. Thanks -Wes
i'm a dealer at ngc,i just looked up the cert# and it states what is on the slab,i think they did a type-o,it's probaly the only one with that label,as far as i know there were no "early releases designations on 20th aniv. set coins, Coin InformationCertification #2094198-001Date / Info2006 P REVERSE PF EAGLE 20TH ANNIVERSARY DenominationS$1 GradePF69 PedigreeEARLY RELEASES i'd hold on to it!
