Looking through more of my coins. Found in a box from my grandfather which indicated uncirculated coins. Some of the coins are not uncirculated yet contained in the circular plastic holders. Anyway... Noticed the anomalies through the plastic and removed the coin for better inspection. Is this Delam? I'm not looking for it specifically, just found it. Found on both sides of the coin.

Just a normal struck through issue resulting from a worn die.

Even though the areas in question are not raised but rather appear to be an incursion into the coin?

A strikethrough will leave a recessed area on the coin.

Incused.. That's what I meant by struck through issue. Evidence of a worn die :dead:

It is interesting... I have seen similar anomalies on two coins of the same state and mint mark in the same area... if worn die then wonder if from the same run of minting?

So this means three 2006 P ND 25c with same anomaly below the light ray on the right side... they look different but similar.

It's possible your grandfather got the same coins from a solid date roll or maybe even a bag in which case you might have several similar from the same run. Likely grease or some other debris was in the way of a normal strike as mentioned.

Tommy, kinda what I was wondering... Typically, when my grandfather bought things such as coins he bought them in multiples or bulk... I mean I have four of each of the state quarters up until 2008, when he got sick and eventually died. He had a thing for the Philadelphia mint I think because they mostly from there. Anyway, it is possible indeed.
