Well I finally got my uncirculated S Old Mint silver dollar. Not perfect but I guess I didn't expect much better.
Some black specks to create conversation, and some minor nicks to focus on. At least I don't see any dust trapped inside the capsule.
The cheap plastic tray the box sits in really is wonderful! Couldn't they have found anything cheaper?

I just received mine as well. It is wonderful example. The silver sheen is like a rainbow! I see no flaws whatsoever and thinking of sending it to PCGS..hopes for a 70 !!

The 1/2 oz AGE uncirc "W" came today as well. WOW is all I can say!!! WOW:eek:hya: :eek:hya: :eek:hya:

I got mine thursday the 21'st. The coin looks perfect, but inner and outer boxes were both crushed. Id swear the mailman drove over it before sticking in the mailbox. :(. I am thinking about calling the mint and seeing if they will replace the box. I am afraid to send the whole thing back and end up not getting anything back but a refund. Or a replacement coin in a lesser condition. Thank God for the plastic case on the coin itself . WHEW. I'll wait till after Christmas to call them though.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all,

    Tom

My box was crunched as well.Maybe this is the "mailman's revenge" for having to deliver all of those coins from the mint.Fortunately,it wasn't bad enought to worry about and I managed to straighten it up a bit but sheesh..what's up with all of this destruction?

About an hour ago my girlfriend went to work (7:30 PM) to the Post Office and she will be working till 8:30 AM. She has had 3 days off in December and she is one of the lucky ones. Some of the employees have been working 12 hour days, seven days a week since the beginning of December or before and they will work Christmas day also. The mail carrieres don't want any of the packages to be damaged, simply because the customers will complain. But you have to take into consideration that not only the Postal Service handles these packages but also the mint, airlines, contract truck drivers. Also UPS and Fed Ex have contracts with the Postal Service to move the mail. So maybe the mail carrier may not be responsible for that damaged package.

Yeah, I was only making a joke about what happened. I know they get busy as hell this time of year and wasn't upset at the mailman in the least. I gave him a 20 dollar tip/present all in 2 dollar bills cuz we appreciate what he does.

Hope you all had a wonderful holiday.
