do you think it would be a good idea to invest in a few rolls of the 2006 nickel? Do you think that the prices will increase in the future, or stay the same, due to high mintage?

Unlike the Westward Journey nickels, th 2006 design is continuous... in 2007 it will look the same... and will stay that way indefinitely until they decide to change it again. Mintage will be in the hundreds of millions at least, maybe into the billions. A roll of anything is not really worth any more than the coins inside of it... possibly high condition nickels will go up in value, since it's hard to get out of the mint at MS 67 or higher... but I think it will be quite a long while if ever before rolls of 2006 nickels become significantly valuable. The more people who save them expecting them to go up in value the less valuable it will be, because there will be a huge available supply.

a couple of high graded nickels wouldn't be a bad idea the in a few years the way people have been snapping up modern "super grades"

I collected rolls of 2003 through 2006 nickels, so I have before, during, and after, the Lewis & Clark issues. Maybe I could sell type sets.

You must, as there can't be any other reason for doing this that I can immagine.

I'm a collector, not an investor, lol... I'd love it if my coins became more valuable in the future but even if they never become worth a penny more than they are today, or even if their value goes down, I'm happy with my collection. However I don't have any realistic belief that the Westward Journey or the Return to Monticello nickels will become significantly more valuable in my lifetime except for extremely high condition ones; there's just way too many of them and too many people are saving them. I'm just barely old enough to remmeber people saving any of the bicentennial quarters they found, expecting them to become valuable some day... except in very high condition none of them are worth more than face value, 30 years later. I expect the same will be true of the nickels and state quarters. If you like to have a bunch, more power to you... I have a roll of the bison design myself, just because I like the design... but if you think it will pay off as an investment in your lifetime, you're likely mistaken. If anything they will become less valuable when the excitement over them dies down. There's too many of them, and too many people are saving them... the same reason why National Geographics since about 1940 never go up in value.
