Looking through my pennies found in 2006 ms-6 7 plus noticed there was some errors on the eye of Lincoln cross-referencing through coppercoins.com there are several doubled dies on the obverse but I need help with this they're so minut that I wouldn't even begin to try and figure this out definitely need help is this calling even worth the zinc that strike on
It looks better than any Lincoln 2006 Philadelphia that PS PG CS has listed so I might have a winner here
I see a rim ding around 1 or 2 o'clock. Some scratches behind abes' head in the fields. Some gunk(?) between some of the letters in "TRUST". If that is a MS68+, I've got plenty of rolls to sell...
Ok post one I'm sick and tired of hearing the (...) LOL everybody's got this everybody's got that post a picture of a 2006 be you or Ms and I'd be surprised
Hey man, I'm just saying your coin is not as highly graded as you think it is. I'm no expert grader but I was able to point those things out to you. Have you ever checked out the PCGS photograde site? Thats a pretty good resource that you should consider.
I'm not trying to be a jerk but look what they have posted on PCGS as an ms-68 and tell me my coin does not compare or looks better than that coin that's my challenge I know I'm no coin greater but I've looked at enough pennies to realize and I've looked at enough of their pennies to realize that what they say they have and they graded isn't what they say they graded
Yes sir I have it doesn't do Lincoln memorials it does wheat pennies so if you can find me a grading site that does memorials I'll be happy to look at it and use that as a reference appreciate your time thank you very much have a wonderful day
What I do is go on there and look at all their pennies they have graded in that year and if I compare the coin that I have to there coin it has less scratches and better strike better I appeal what else do I go by
Well if you think so then send it in. I don’t think it’s a 68+ but if you think it is and PCGS agrees then good for you.
Willie.. Any Cent found in circulation can never be MS68 That's all you need to understand. MS are Cents fresh from the minting press!
What i have learned is that one's comparison skills improve over time. Initially I was grading coins way higher than they actually were. In this forum you'll find "guess the grade" posts all the time. That is an eye opener on realizing one's skills are not exactly where they think they are; and I'm talking about mine. Thus I watch those and guess the grade and learn. I've also learned punctuation and to strive not to have run on sentences.
My bad about the punctuation I went to school stupid I came out the same way public schools in Massachusetts I agree what you're saying but I just look at the picture sometimes and it makes me wonder
I understand my brother and I thank you for the heads up I just wish one time I could have the right thing that I post I'm going to go to sleep I got to work at 12 am in the morning peace have a wonderful day
Maybe I can squeeze a MS 60 something out of it anyhow I just like the feedback it's the thrill of the hunt
Look at the coin under at least 5X magnification and a good halogen light. You will see every little nick and defect. To be MS 68, it must possess maybe 2 tiny imperfections when looked at as described above.
