2006 Mint Set Error(?) - Missing Nebraska Quarter

Discussion in 'Error Coins' started by coincollector_9, Jul 13, 2012.

  1. I thought this looked pretty interesting so I picked it up on ebay and it arrived today. I was wondering if someone could tell me a little more about it and estimate what it is worth. It came with the full 2006 mint set (P&D), box, and COA.

$1.00 instead of $1.25 because it's missing one quarter.

Packaging problems have no bearing on coin values. They are not considered numismatic errors.

Sorry to have to say that it's most likely not worth as much you paid for it.

I agree. In general, packaging mistakes do not carry a premium. I don't know how much you paid for this set but unless you completely buried yourself you may be able to pawn it off on another unsuspecting collector. Ever heard of the "Greater Fool Theory"?
