General question where any 2006 halves released into general circulation, or is the only way to get them is in the mint set?
Just finished a box of halves and have found one 2005 and 4 2006's in the same box, found it odd to have so many recent dates in one box.
The 2006 halves were available in rolls in bags also, which are available every year.There is a premium on these. The mint has made both the kennedy and the Sacagawea in rolls and bags since 2002 with none released into general circulation. Of course the Sac will be made in large numbers for 2007 but we probably won't be seeing them circulate anytime soon.
I have found so many 2006 P and D Kennedys while searching rolls that I might stop keeping them. I'll bet I have at least 70 so far.
Yeah, I have a pile of relatively beat up 2002-2006 halves from roll searching but somehow I just can't part with them.
I hear ya! I haven't found too many 2002-2005s, but I do have at least one or two of each. I've never seen a 2007 P or D, but I have enough 06-Ds that I took the best 20 and put them in a tube for "posterity."
