Ok, so I've got this quarter now. It's a 2006 Colorado and it has no cladding on the reverse. All of the details near the rim are weakly struck, and according to the jeweler, it weighs in at 4.6 grams. I submit to you for your further opinion. Do you see anything wrong with the authenticity of this error? Also, if it is authentic, I intend to sell it. My question as far as selling it is... Would I potentially be looking at a higher sale value if I were to submit it to ANACS to be authenticated and slabbed, or would it not be worth my while to do so? Thanks.
I agree---since this is a newer state I bet it will sell pretty fast and high. BUT I would suggest sending it to NGC... Speedy
CONECA doesn't slab any coins---but to the best of my knowledge all of the grading companies slab errors and I know for sure that NGC and PCGS both do. Speedy
Sorry, I didn't mean to imply CONECA slabs the coins. I was reading on the ANACS site that they work in connection with CONECA in variety and error attribution. Hmmm... ok, so given this info, NGC does seem more appealing. I've never sent a coin in for grading before, so I'm open to any advice that is available.
Ah now I understand what you meant about CONECA----your right---in fact I think Mike Ellis works for ANACS full time now---but I would trust NGC just as much....PCGS has Fred Weingberg <sp?> working for them going over all of their error coins. Speedy
