Hello all Great website by the way. I came across this site and decided to dig out my stash of coins that I save for a rainy day. I found a 2006 cent without the little 'D' below the date. I'm wondering if that is common or not. I've looked around and can't find specifically what I'm asking. I scanned an image but haven't been able to figure out how to add it. Thanks in advance.
Hi welcome.. You cent was made in the Philidelphia mint, they do not put a mint-mark on them like they do other coins. Just remember if it is plain it is a Philly. The only coin I am aware of to get excited about missing mint marks are the 1922 (plain, it was minted in Denver) and some proof coins that should have an S mint mark but it is missing. Hope this helps, take care.
