This one is a little bit crazy and pretty cool. It doesnt have a finish on the face, hard to explain but this first pic shows the damaged rim and what the obverse looks like w/o a finish on it.

I'm seeing a lot of post mint damage and nothing much interesting.

obverse is missing it's clad (1st pic shows half with and without on rim) reverse is a variety of the speared bison error (I think). This coin has the "spear"(line) coming out of his head instead of back - from forehead to E. Also, die crack has caused xtra metal on nose and head.

Nickels do not have clad compositions

well then it's missing some kind of layer. What would cause the entire obverse and half the rim to be missing a layer? It almost looks silver. And the rim shows its way to perfect to be post mint...

No.. Could just be environmental damage.

Nothing.. just circulation marks. The speared Bison variety is a gouge on the Die or a Die Chip. Nothing that is incused on the Nickel.

ok no need to be a jerk. I'm trying to explain what I see, i do not have words besides it appears to be missing a layer. Why I see rust on the coin...anyway, thx

Environmental Damage.. something spilled on it, buried, a coin used in a science experiment.. there could be many reasons. But It's not an error.

I'll post side by side comparison with others from the same jar. they are shiny and dark whereas this one is dull like silver. The rim starts coin wide and perfectly ramps down to a point. I'll get better pics when I get off work. Plus, rust in the eye? for a 2005 that's been inside for years?

I forgot to mention that this coin's diameter is slightly larger than the other 3 I own as well as its noticeably thicker too

Well that's a good clue. Maybe it's a plated (post mint) nickel. Can you can the weight?

Best pic i could get, but you see the diff. These are all 2005 bison nickels, the light one is a D, rest are P's. Guess i was wrong about it being thicker.
