    Hi,
I'm new here. I just received a 2005 proof set from the U.S. Mint, but they must have made a mistake because it does not have all five state quarters. Instead of the Kansas quarter it has 2 California quarters. My question is... should I return the set for a new one, or hold on to this one?

    Thanx,
    Lee

If you want a cmplete proof set...send it back..I think at the most someone would pay you a dollar more for the set...but first you have to find someone who will!

These error sets (mispackaged coins) sell for a small premium on eBay, but if you want a complete set I recommend just sending it back or taking it to your dealer and asking if he wants to trade.

Thanks for your replies. I already have a complete set. I ordered this one for our first grandchild, due in November, so wondered what would be best for him/her. I'll return it.
    Thanx,

In 1999, I recieved both my mint sets and both had the same type of mistake you are talking about. At first I was upset, then the dollar signs went off so they went on ebay. I doubled my money, so after buying two more correct sets, it was the equivalent of getting my two mint sets free!
