The silver coins just arrived in todays mail, and I can honestly say that without exception, each and every one of the coins in the set are fantastic. The grading services would be expanding their range to 75 at least if I were to send these in for slobbing. (fat chance of that happening). The U.S. Mint's mail service is getting real good now days, since they arent stopping for so many drop offs in Utah. Thanks Doug!
You got them already ? I ordered mine in the first 30 minutes they were taking orders, and mine are backordered to June 27. By the time I get mine, the dies will be worn down. I'll be lucky to get a PF-72.
OldDan probably got his on the subscription plan. Mine should be here soon since that is how I ordered mine.
Just got mine in the mail today as well. Only opened one set but they look fine. I'm on the subscription plan so I'm not sure what the backorder status is.
Nick, we’re talking about the silver proof set: U.S. Mint Silver Proof Set whoopig and line_grade, I thought about doing the subscription plan, but I deferred because I wanted to buy the clad proof set at the same time and save on shipping costs. Guess I can’t complain; those who spent more on shipping deserve to get theirs first.
you think thats weird, i ordered 2 sets of the mint sets, then three days later i ordered 5 more ( seperate order ) well, the set of five came first! then 2 days later my order of two arrived... very wierd!
That makes for 2 stops they aren't doing...I'm not buying either...my dad might be but for me its pre 1964 coins as much as I can.... Speedy
You're more than welcome pal I told the boss to just drop you off a portion of my annual allotments when I canceled all my subscriptions
That's probably why I'm waiting so long for mine here in Colorado. The postal service is spending too much time in the wilds of Wyoming trying to find Old Dan and his Ilk. Still waiting.
Got mine just yesterday and they really are high quality this year. Apparently they made a few more outstanding sets after making Old Dan's coins so they just shipped them to me! Sure is great knowing Old Dan as just mentioning his name really opens the doors for you! Thanks Old Dan!!!
Heard from the mint today by e-mail, stating that my coins have been shipped. Guess they're through in Wyoming now and ready to drop down to Colorado and get with it.
WOOHOOO.....my sets made it in today. It was my first try with the subscription service and I'm liking it!!! As for the coins themselves....purdy purdy
Remember, especially the further west you travel, that most of the time they will be opening those doors to throw you out for using such foul language!
My silver proof set came in yesterday, they look great. The regular proof set is backordered. A few days ago I checked the Mint's order tracking feature, and it didn't know anything about my order. I called them and the little fella who answered the phone said that the proof set was still backordered, and that the silver proof set was in transit. It took five days to go the 150 miles between the last two towns. Looking forward to getting the proof set ... some day.
mine came in a few days ago. All coins look great except for the sac dollar... lots of spots on it. I almost hate to send it back since the nickel and everything else look so good.
got my 3 sets today, Very nice but I think 1 of my quarters has a tiny little spot. Not big enough to send back
I also got my three sets Friday 5/17/05. They are an exceptional finish even under 30x magnification. I am not on their subscription plan, but will be shortly. Now if I could just find a 1999 Silver Proof Mint set for under $200.00 today would be a perfect Father's Day. Ha Ha!
