I just saw on eBay that the 2005 Silver Maple Leafs are out now! Why are 2005 dated coins released in 2004? http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=39488&item=3943509751&rd=1&ssPageName=WDVW David
Can you say "mar-ket-ing"? 2005 automobiles have been on the road for months, so why not coins? (Especially from the RCM )
It's the second of the two 2005 coins here: http://www.mint.ca/microsite/en/jr_2.asp And here's two more: http://www.mint.ca/microsite/en/jr_1.asp And for good measure, probably the world's first 2006 coin! http://www.mint.ca/microsite/en/silver_2.asp
Roy - The coin you mention from the RCM site is not the same coin as the one in the E bay auction. The coin in the auction is the regular bullion Maple Leaf. If you look at the reverse of the one from the RCM site you will see that it is a different coin. I can't find the coin from the auction on the RCM site either but I have seen it for sale by some of the big dealers that advertise in the Canadian Coin News. Maybe dealers get them early. Bill
