2005-S Kennedy with copper edge planchette?

Being new to the hobby, I have only a 1 in 10 record for spotting actual errors. I have exhausted my sources on this one (maybe I missed a footnote), so I have to ask:

The coin in question is a very ugly 2005-S Kennedy Proof, which I understand should be .900 silver coin with no core. I am seeing a definite core in this coin, but the odds are telling me that I have missed something important.

    Any input is appreciated.

That coin is a clad proof.

They were made in both clad and silver.

Ah of course, it was right there in the book. Thanks!

Looks like a clad coin to me. Don't judge a coin by the mintmark.
