I have a couple of questions that came to mind from this ad posted on Sacramento craigslist. First let me say that I am not interested in buying from the seller at all! I do have some questions tho. I bought a small collection last month and included in the collection are some modern uncirculated nickels. I don't even know the names yet, the bison, the handshake, the ocean, and the ships. I didn't buy the collection for these nickels but now that I have them I need to learn what to do with them. That said there may be something of value in this nickel binder so I have questions. What is a type-1 Bison nickel? Are there any error Bison's I should know about? Any Ship, Handshake or Ocean errors or info I should know about? I know I could just go to google but I know the collectors on this forum know things that google and wiki have never heard of. Any links or further info would be appreciated!! See below ad for a good smurk!! SGS ouch!! 2005-P Bison T-1 Nickel MS 70 for sale or trade I have 2005-P Bison T-1 Nickel Grade by SGS MS-70 these are NOT THE SATIN ones which are worth far less. http://www.stargrading.org/ . I am looking to trade for other graded coins, Silver Bullion or to sell them,.. $400 OBO you buy more than one, I will knock off $50,.. or will trade for same value or make offer. I have 30 of them I bought back in 2005 at $200 ea. These are NOT the Satin ones which are worth far less,.. Being MS 70 coins they will just keep going up, being hard to find. PCGS has the MS-67 at $650 ea. either way they are worth more than I selling them for. If you want them graded by PCGS send them in ($20) if they grade less you are still making money since you are not buying them at MS70 prices nor am I selling them at that price. Here is the web site check it out http://www.pcgs.com/prices/PriceGuideDetail.aspx?MS=1&PR=1&SP=1&c=84&title=Jefferson+Nickel I am only sorry they are not the spear ones going for thousand each,.. I only wish they were,.. They will still continue to go up since they are not made any more and each year more peolpe start collecting. I would consider trading for US Proof Set Coins and open to other offers,.. Also open for trading for: a large safe 3'Wx 3'D x 5'h, Honda Goldwing GL1200 or GL 1500, Jet Skiis 2 or 3 person, power pressure washer 2500-3500 psi, backhoe tractor, sailboat..
I believe that there have been two main errors/varieties found on the bison: a detached leg and a speared. I also have heard that the ocean view has an error but believe it is only in the proof but may be wrong. TC
Alrighty then, I guess not too many ppl collected the series!! I'll check out google when I get home!
