2005 Oregon State Quarter with Ridge

    Hello! I have no idea at all about coin collecting. I found this quarter the other day, and was just curious as to what would cause this, and if it's worth more then 25 cents. There is a prominent ridge around the portrait. I've never seen this before, but then again, I've never really looked..lol.     :welcome:glad you can join us,it looks like damage from when they roll the coins?

    Just to clarify, it doesn't seem to be a scratch. It actually appears to stick out above the surrounding areas, like excess material.
