Hello! I have no idea at all about coin collecting. I found this quarter the other day, and was just curious as to what would cause this, and if it's worth more then 25 cents. There is a prominent ridge around the portrait. I've never seen this before, but then again, I've never really looked..lol. Please take a look at the attached pictures, and let me know what you think. Thank you.
Just to clarify, it doesn't seem to be a scratch. It actually appears to stick out above the surrounding areas, like excess material.
