So, I was coming home from work today, and I stopped and picked up $25 in pennies.... What I didn't realize until just NOW is that they're all in mint-wrapped rolls from 2005!!! Does anyboy know or have any info on 2005 Lincoln Cent varieties or errors I might try looking for? If not I think I'll just take them back to the bank tomorrow and switch them out for "good" old rolls!!!! THANKS! ~AJ
Ive looked through several thousand 2005 cents and have not found anything yet, I will keep looking ! no harm in looking through the rolls you have before you take them back !!! I would !! Rick
Numerous doubled die reverse varieties have shown up. John Wexler has classified them and has been selling them on ebay. Search auction number 8315836259 for an example. These all have some extra metal running beside the center columns near lincoln's statue. I found a couple but believe they are probably die chips and not really a doubled die.
I too got some BU rolls of 2005 cents...I have been asking my bank to get them for sometime...I trade with other collectors and thought they might want some... But rolls are also a good way for me to save money...I buy rolls and set them back...and one of these days I'm going to buy the S VBD...almost have the right$$. Speedy
