Any way to identify these from the obverse? Going through my collection to organize and record everything, and I have a bunch of the 2005 nickel rolls. A few are in the String and Son paper wrappers, and the reverse is visible of the bison. However some have the obverse at both ends of the roll, so I can't tell if this is the same bison design, or the design from the 2nd half of the year. Secondly, should I just spend these, or keep 'em? 7 rolls.... face at $2/ea.
There is no way you can tell if they are the Bison or the Ocean in View without opening them. I have a couple hundred of the 2004-2006 rolls that came from the release ceremonies. A couple are heads/heads or tails/tails and the only reason I know which style or mintmark they are is because I bought the remains of the ballistic bags which segregated them by design and mintmark. I made sure to record it on the wrapper. The rolls really aren't worth much of a premium. If I were you, I'd open the rolls to search for the "Speared Bison" (If they are the Bison nickel.) Chris
