2005-D Buffalo Nickel

    Can someone please help me determine if this is just environmental damage on the reverse. It is located under the front leg of the Buffalo.

    Thanks for your response. I don't know if it is environmental damage around the buffalo's foot and mound. It is hard to see in the photo but there appears to be something going on in the form of a circle around the front foot. The metal seems to be moved or pushed. I don't know if it could be a cud or just PMD.

    It looks like a stain to me.
