Well I got mine today...it's a nice one for sure...
Slabbed by NGC MS69..I have to wonder if it is really graded by NGC or if it's just a label printed up...there are soooo many MS69's

If anybody wanted to know--this year the sun still has the bloob on it...I think I read it was a weakness in the die...it's been there for at least the last 5 years...

Has anybody else gotten some and what do you think about them???

I've picked up a few of the 2005 ASE's, but none of mine are slabbed. I've noticed that "bloob" as you call it on the sun, also. What's up with that? You would think that the Mint would have straightened that out by now. Otherwise, the 2005's seem to have a nice, strong strike and great detail. Of course, these are some of the first coins to have been struck for 2005; we'll see what they look like later in the year... :)

I don't think anybody knows more than that it's just a weakness in the die at the sun and that is why of the "blob"...somebody else might be able to shed some light better than I...
I think the srtike is great...better than last year--

That's actually a very graphic representation of Sunspot 720 which has created all sorts of radiowave propagation for us ham radio and other users of the ether. Sunspot 720 was on the other side of the sun recently, but a heliographic scan indicates it's about to re-emerge and threaten the Earth with more Class M and X flares with resultant Coronal Mass Ejections.

It is only natural that a coin with sunshine should also show some rain.

Yep--I would like to buy a roll or more but I can't afford it...and since I only need 1, I find it on e-bay (duch auction) and buy one...$18.50 NGC MS69

    Speedy,

I couldn't resist so I bought a slabbed PCGS MS-69 "First Strike" (however they determine that). Anyway, I agree with you that the strike this year is great. And guess what? No "blob" on the sun!

Good Job...it must be a first strike!!!
They say the strike from 86-96 is week and after that it's better....
