2004p cent... is this a die crack?

This looks like a nasty die crack, but not sure. Any thoughts?

Damage, it is indented and not raised from the surface.

 

It is called a scratch. You can see the metal pushed up along the edge.

The lighting is straight on.
I can't tell if it's raised or not.

 

To me it is like Chris said, there is a push of metal towards the bottom of the scratch. also in some of the areas of the Hair, it looks as if the detail above the area in question is missing.

 

Thanks guys, it is not raised so therefore,back into circulation. One more dumb question though, could there have been a piece of wire on the die itself (or on the coin) when it struck the coin?

 

Yes, but it would not have left any raised metal.
