I was wondering if anyone else finds the $10.00 2004 series-A "We The People" bills (I hear them called this alot) interesting? As collectors we don't always need to buy whats hot on the market all the time, but to now and then branch out and collect something that may be a good investment item one-day that currently doesn't have much attention directed its way now. Please voice your opinions either positive, negative or netural. I'd appreciate it so I can have a more open view of others opinion. I have 100 consecitive seriel numbers in crisp uncirculated grade (straight from the bank) and several hundred more circulated notes, I find them quite unique. Thanks Michael/starnote111

I don't know about long-term collector value, but I agree that the notes are really interesting. I really like the look of the $10 notes for some reason. I know that the star notes for the series were really hot when they first came out.

If you can afford to set a pack back, then go for it. I do things very similar from time to time. Crisp unciricluated examples of notes from the 1970s and 1980s are now bringing premiums, so they may appreciate in value someday.

Hello Shortgapbob, Thanks for the input, I bought a couple of packs of the $2.00 bills last year in consecuitive serial numbers. One pack was 2003 series and the other was 1995 series. I use the ID of starnote because I think their neat, but I really haven't studied or educated myself enough in the currency field of collecting to really have the tools needed to be a smart buyer, so I stick to the silver and gold. What type of currency have you collected? I have some nice 1928 series D,F,and G's. along with some 1963,66,and 69 $100.00 bills. What is your major interest? Thanks and take care. Michael

Aidan, I'm in the process of learning how to post pictures. I've got a pavalion(hp)720 N computer with the hp psc 1350 all in one printer scanner copier. My system crashed and when I used the restore cd's some of my applications didn't come back as expected...BUT!!... as of today I found the files and un-deleated and restored them and the printer is working. Do I have to have a camera to take the pictures ? or can I scan them by using the HP Digital Imaging option on my system? If I can scan the items I would like to show everyone how do I send and post them to this forum. I've got some very beautiful coins I'd like to share with everyone , at the risk of sounding ignorant (my wife has another word she directs to me on occassions) if you can please advise me what I need to do or please direct me to the information I need to gain this knowledge..........please help!. Michael

Michael, don't ask me about scanners & digital cameras.I wouldn't know where to start,as I haven't got either, nor do I have a printer.I am busy trying to teach myself how to use a computer,as I now have my own computer.Prior to the end of November,I was borrowing someone else's computer & throwing away thousands of Dollars (New Zealand Dollars, that is!) in the process,as I was in an Internet cafe in town for 3 hours at a time.A couple of times,I had spent all night in an Internet cafe,& buggered by the next morning.I am glad those days are over.

    Aidan.

De Orc, I scanned 2 Barber halfs (it looked lkie $#%%^) so I tried to make the adjustments according to the help menu, but I couldn't get the resizing and other adjustments to reset, even when I locked them in like the directions stated. I've been working with it for about a hour now..........I'm lost. I'm going to get my daughter or sister-in-law to come and show me the procedure (I'll never hear the end of this one.........you know........MEN!! just can't do a thing without a woman to show them how to do it right. HA HA HA). I'll get it figured out and get some photos posted, hopefully everyone will enjoy them as much as I do. Michael

I just got one of these "We The People" $10 star notes from the bank today. It is not crisp. Someone wrote "200" on the left of the bill in black marker. The serial number is "GL 03485444 *". I'm thinking I should probably spend it. What do you guys think?

The $10 Series 2004 A and star notes were printed at the Fort Worth, Texas facility. The only Fed Reserve Banks that issued them are as follows:

    1 Boston,
    2 New York
    3 Atlanta
    4 San Francisco

They are commanding about 10-15% premium for the notes in Chrisp Gem condition.

If you have them..hold on to them...
