If your refering to the line through the E ir may be a crack but the pic resolution is to low to tell. Can you post a better pic?

Die cracks are common. More dramatic ones may carry a small premium with some collectors. Proof die cracks are more sought after b/c of the "higher" quality control that goes into the process of producing them. As a pocket change error collector, its fun finding them even when they're only worth face value. I have a 1993 Washington that has 3 seperate die cracks on the obverse and 1 on the reverse.

Die cracks are an imperfection that has developed in a particular working die. This imperfection is transferred to to every coin struck by the damaged die. Thus allowing a collector to attribute a coin to the specific working die and the state of the die that struck it. Not much premium now but a possible recognized variety in the future.
