    please help identify what this is from the cuff to the thumb knuckle? thanks

    It looks like it could be a strikethrough from grease & debris that accumulated on the die and then fell away onto the next planchet before it was struck.

    my neighbor gave me 5 rolls of nickels part of a birthday gift so I was just wondering if the nickel had any value. thank you

    This kind of strikethrough is fairly common. Personally, I wouldn't pay a premium for it, but that doesn't mean there aren't plenty of bidiots out there. It's just hard to place a value on it from the outset.
