Hello everyone, I just wanted to know whether I should give up a crisp uncirculated 2004 $20 for a regular 1974 $20 my bank has. Any opinions are much appreciated.

To me they are both $20.
If you want the 1974, go for it.
They aren't really collectible to me unless they are 1950 and before.
You always have people that collect modern star notes, low runs, and crisp uncirculated paper, but to me you have $20 in it and aren't going to get much more out of it, even in 20 years when the purchase power will be half of what it is now.
So, you save a $20 bill, in 20 years you are able to sell it for $25 and it's worth $12.50 in purchasing power from 20 years before. That's why most of these moderns, (especially the high denominations, 20, 50, 100 are worth more to me to just spend it.) If you don't need $20, and can live without it, and want the 1974, then your decision is made.

I agree with @Michael K It will be many, many years before either of these notes has any kind of value over face. If you like them, then go with the one that's most interesting to you. However, if you could use the $20 for something else (Like, oh, maybe another coin or note for collection??) then I would strongly recommend using it for that

Can't you trade any $20.00 bill for it? How about 2 $10.00 bills or 4 $5.00 bills? o_O

I could, but, I just wanted to inquire whether the crisp 2004 $20 had any more value than a circulated '74.
