    Hello all!
I found this penny while searching a circulated bank bag of coins. I at first assumed that it was post mint damage ? Does anyone know of any process during a strike that could have caused this type of damage?
The rim of the coin is rolled down on the obverse and concave on the reverse. It looks like a hex key was embedded on the obverse.
    Just curious,

My vote is PMD. Looks like someone worked it over, not clean enough to be mint caused.

I am not an error expert but I would concur with PMD.

It looks like someone placed a ratchet head over this penny then slammed it with a hammer to leave the markings.
