2003 nickel has ice cycle on the right side of the monument

    Do all 2003 nickels have this on the monument. I haven't been able to find any to verify

    Looks to be a small Die Break. The Die itself had a break or a Chip on it so the metal from the Blank Nickel Planchet flowed into it.
    It's a common occurrence that could be found in different areas of the field. If it is near the edge of the coin it's called a CUD.

    I don't know about the nickel but we have ice cycles here in south central Pennsylvania. 10 degrees this morning and it goes right though you. BRRRR :)

    Do you ride them on frozen ponds or are they too heavy and risk breaking through the ice?
