2003 BU American Eagle Silver Dollar.. Platinum plated

    I just recently purchased from a well known website a uncirculated 2003 American Eagle Silver Dollar that has been platinum plated. It was the only one I had seen at the time and havent seen another listed since. I know that platinum by itself is expensive, but can anyone tell me or have an idea what a Silver Eagle Dollar that's uncirculated and plated with platinum might be worth? Any info. would be apprecitated. Thanks!

    Well, it's probably not what you want to hear, but I'd say it's worth about $9.15. That's the value of the silver and the 15 cents worth of platinum they used to plate it.

    Maybe 20.00 if you're lucky and its real platinum.

    As a novelty it is hard to say, but to a true coin collector it is closer to what GDJMSP said. Somewhere around $10.oo if your lucky!
