Your 2002-S is a proof coin. The dies for these coins are inspected and polished several time before they are used. Proof coins are stamped at least twice, which can cause strike doubling. Proof coins are make in larger numbers now than years ago, due to demand in sales. Which in my opinion will effect Quality.
