Most interesting thing I have found. Is there a die crack going from rim through Q and into bust on obverse. Also on reverse are these die chips on R T H of birthplace and by artist initials. I believe that is what is there.
I think you'll find that the die crack from the rim through the Q to the base of Washington's neck actually began at the neck and headed toward the rim. This is most likely because the crack is pretty wide nearest the point of the neck. I've seen many, many cracks on various SQ's and many run along the entire base of the Washington bust usually beginning near the designer's initials. Be sure to check GA Philly SQ's for this type of crack (if you're into them) and the reverse of the UT SQ for die cracks all over the trains. Granted, die cracks are cool for some collectors, but they really aren't worth a premium over face value. Chris
