Is this really 2001? Or do they mean 2010? Do they really have that many 2001 sacs floating around? http://catalog.usmint.gov/webapp/wc...10001&storeId=10001&productId=16059&langId=-1
It wouldn't surprise me one bit that they still have a pile of these. Now if they would do 2002-2008 I could fill some holes in the album I have.
they have both 2010 and 2001 for $1 direct shipment.. Like in another post there is probably a bunch load of extra's from 2001. (at least it is one H3ll of an educated guess) Shrek P.S. If it is an error..They better correct it fast before they possibly upset many potentional customers!
Yea they're trying to clean out some space, There are 857 Million dollar coins in vaults at the Mint, see this thread http://www.cointalk.com/t85841/
I am not surprised about the 2001 Sacs. After all the Mint did open the vaults of the 2001 Kennedys. I hope after the direct ship program, that the collector can buy a P and D roll.
Why buy the P and D roll when you can get them directly from the mint at face now? Free shipping even! I ordered my two boxes - I'll spend most and keep a few nice coins for myself.
I don't think you can specify a mint mark for direct ship. All the boxes are "mixed". I just ordered the 2010 Native American dollars for shipment on 1/11/10. I had to be real careful not to accidentally pick the 2001 coins, which are also offered right below the 2010 button.
Do they mix mint marks within the same box? Or is the box all the same? So far I have only noticed 2009D in the NA boxes I just got in.
i think all those 2001 coins were already toned and change color. the mint might mix with circulated coins too?. is that possible.
I am new to the site and I hope someone can guide me. I have received many direct ship presidential rolls and sacagawea rolls. I am wondering how you can tell the mintage on them. My understanding was that rolls could be stamped 'Philadelphia' while containing Denver coins. So I am curious how I can determine where they come from without having to open them up. Thanks.
I ordered 6 boxes of the 2010 Sacs....hhhhmmmm lets see now..... 2010 SACAGAWEA PCGS MS70 WITH THE REVERSE OF THE 2009.... HEY, its fun to dream.........:hail:
I've gone through thousands of Direct Ship Dollars and have yet to get "mixed mint mark rolls". My experience is that you either get all P's or all D's but never a combination of both.
HMMMMMmmmmmm, $125.00 OF COINS FOR $250.00, that's some markup on coins not made of precious metals. Hey Chief, that is a great dream. zeke
Oh, oh, I was just mentioning the possilbe melt value of the sacs not the collectors value. I guess if you can come out with some nice MS sacs and with enough of them and the maybe low mintage it would make a very nice collection. I wish the mint kept the eagle on the reverse. It was one of the most beatiful and realistic designs in my opinion.
