I hoping someone can help me with this because I'm not sure. I am going to send it to be graded I guess. I know only a few state quarters have been discovered on an experimental planchet and they are worth a lot of $$ so I hoping! Any opinions would be appreciated. I have plenty of pictures. 2.jpg 1.jpg 50.jpg 2000-Washington State Quarter.jpg 28.jpg 2.jpg 1.jpg 50.jpg 2000-Washington State Quarter.jpg 28.jpg

What does it weigh? With the silver edge my guess would be that it was plated.

the rim looks like it has copper stripes, it's weird looking. I don't know if you can tell from the pic 44.jpg 46.jpg 44.jpg 46.jpg 44.jpg

It is Gold as can be with a copper toning.

With it being just a bit over weight for what a normal quarter should be I highly suspect that it is plated.

I guess I will have to get it graded to find out, Or do you have any recommendations?

Honestly, I would wait before you go and get it graded. See if anyone else chimes in. Grading can get rather expensive and if it turns out to just be plated it will be quite a waste of money.

It's a plate job. The clue is the overweight that something was added to the coin after it left the Mint, which is usual for coins that get a plating of either gold or silver.

I wouldn't submit it as you'll be wasting your money on the fees, shipping to and from, plus insurance.

I see a lot of these at local coin shows and expos.
