Hello everyone, Just your thoughts on what looks like the rim is missing, which would have cause the words United States of America to be cut off? Also on the back of the coin the J is missing in the word Jamestown. Your thoughts please?
    Thank you

Double Die I know just enough to be dangerous

Dryer coin. Looks like it was in there a while too. Really quite common for quarters if you think about it.

The rim is not really "missing."

Notice the rim appears on the reverse but not on the obverse, which isn't possible to come out of the upset mill with only one side having a rim. It has been damaged.
