Can anyone tell me what the object is between the second ship and the big ship on this 2000 P Virginia State Quarter? IMG_20180730_222424108_HDR.jpg

    Welcome to CT!!

It would really help if you could post a photo of the whole reverse and maybe try to get a close up that is more in focus. We can't accurately answer without good CLEAR photos....sorry.

It's definitely not on mine. It looks to me to be a tiny boat with a couple of people on it. The pictures are still not real clear, but it appears to be something purposely put there. Would love to know when you find out.

I am no expert. From the pictures, it is hard for my eyes to be sure whether it is a raised line or depressed line. If it is raised, it is most likely where something struck the die. If it is depressed, it is post mint damage, like the similar line appears to be in the "ocean" above the L in QUADRICENTENNIAL.

It's not the line its the pole in between the second small ship and the big ship. The pole is not supposed to be there.

A check of all of mine doesn't show anything between those ships. I'd venture to say it is just PMD.

Doesn't look like a scratch to me. I'm going with mint damage
