I have a 2000-P state quarter that I found in my pocket change, and I would like to know if what I am seeing on the "IN GOD WE TRUST" on the obverse is maybe doubled die? It also has it on the reverse in both lettering and picture. The picture is actually the best one I was able to take, sorry. ddquarter.jpg

The photo is not the best, but it looks like machine doubling to me......"flat and shelf-like". ~ Chris

Welcome to CT. It looks like MD or machine doubling. Very common and only worth face value.

You can also keep it as an educational tool. To remind yourself what MD looks like.

Thank you everyone, I think the D.D.'s are the most fascinating to learn.

Yes but they are also hard to learn. There are so many types of doubling with most of them worthless. They are known as NAV's or No Added Value Doubling.
