Photo shows coin with spots. The whole roll is like that. SAC small.jpg
Are they milk spots ? Or something I can remove? I haven't tried anything yet.

I would try 100% acetone , try one as an experiment for I haven't seen a SAC as a conservation project yet. Maybe someone has another idea . JMO

Sorry. That's not something you can fix.

Acetone is great on organic stuff but spots like these are in the metal. Some feel they come from the wash the mint used. Even if the spots could be removed, it's still only worth a dollar.

I had this roll kickin' around for years and cracked it open to look for wounded eagles but alas none were to be found.

Will probably leave them as tips at coffee shop

Appears to be "milk" spots, which I understand are due to improperly rinsed and dried planchets. They can appear long after minting and might even show up on graded, slabbed coins at a later date. At least that's what I've read.

Sounds about right although I originally thought milk spots were only on silver planchets

Same here. I believe that changes in humidity help make the spots start showing.

Since coin is worth a buck only, tomorrow I will try to remove said spots with various potions

What is the reverse? There is a wounded eagle variety.

The early dates all had the wash spotting problem. Sometime later in the series the Mint was able to correct this.

Yeah, the 2000's were turning a puke greenish-brown because of the rinse, but they were able to correct it for 2001.

Heck, I was selling the "Soaring Eagle" design (2000-2008) that graded MS68 for $150+.
