2000 lincoln cent

    The coin in question has a brass color to it rather than copper. Is it an error or discolored by a chemical.

    Howdy rweimert - Welcome to the Forum !!

    It's really hard to say without seeing the coin. But cents in particular come into contact with all sorts of stuff - so it easily could be due to a chemical.

    The usual answer is as GD says,however there me be another reason.It is possible it is Brass Plated. Don't get your hopes up yet but I thought you might want to read about some other brass cents first. Just click the link below, good luck! I hope this helps.
