I found this coin in my change as I was going through them and noticed what I originally thought was a 1 in front of the year 2000, but I think it's the "L" from Liberty, or an L anyway! I looked for any common errors or known errors and couldn't find any. Also looks like may be doubling on "Liberty" Opinions? It's definitely not the prettiest coin. I am relatively new to coin collecting but what seems to be a L is detailed enough to not be a ding or dent in the coin.

Your 2000 Cent is a Copper Plated Zinc Planchet.. Just a plating issue. Not a mint error.

I agree with @paddyman98 just a plating issue.

Looks like what is know as a plating blister which is very common on Zinc cents. Welcome to CT.

Thank you, How can I tell those from any legitimate marks or errors, etc? Would I just go by the errors that are out there?
I appreciate all of your responses

    Hi Monica,
Welcome to cointalk. I am glad you found the hobby in whatever fashion relates to you. This is a fantastic forum filled with a wealth of knowledge across the board.
I like the Lincoln resource center website
CONECA Website and would recommend a couple of books. The coin collectors survival guide, The Red book of coins(pay little attention to value assigned) and may be a "Cherrypicking guide" which contains, I think, is some plainly understood language regarding coins in general.
    Someplace to start anyway

    Enjoy the new year
