Earlier today I went on my weekly Flea Market expedition. I came across this coin all by itself in a display case. I asked the vendor to please allow to see it. As soon as I saw it, it became clear to me that I wanted to buy this coin. At first I thought it was silver, but after learning a few things in this forum it knew it was some type of clad or other material. I examined the coin more closely and compared it to what I knew about the U.S. coins(half dollars, dollars). An internal ahh came around and I figured it was a mix of copper and nickle. The biggest challenge that I have is, since I am not a world coin collector I do not know what grade this is. I believe, from comparing my own U.S. collection, that this may well be an Au. As far as what type or # I do not know. I would also enjoy someone to provide a history lesson on this coin. Any enlightenment would greatly help this newbie. Thanks.

I have something also from Liberia. I'll go check my book for a price.

Thanks Vnickels. I bought this coin in a bulk deal with a 1943s Merc dime in Au maybe Ms and two commerative looking coins George bush double eagle and Ronald Reagan double eagle. I figured these commerative coins $0.99 each and $8.00 on Dime and about $8.00 on this Liberian coin. I paid $20.00 for these four coins. I figured I didn't do too bad.

I couldn't find any information either. I am hoping someone can help with the grade and the history. I would also like to know the price. Since I bundled this deal, I can alway make adjustments.

That's too much for the dime. Slabbed UNC is only $13 or so for those common years.
