Interesting "error". Since the date stands out above the field of the coin, the die must be incuse to produce this. Apparently the die cavity must have picked up some debris in that spot.
Yes, it is interesting. That being said, it is a Zincoln and plating issues are a constant problem, so those could be die chips or plating bubbles. The missing part of the date would be corrosion under that part of the date, or a derbri strike though. Let's see what others think. @paddyman98, @JCro57, @Fred Weinberg, others?
