Did someone coat this or what? How can I prove to myself that it's not silver? IMG_3142.JPG IMG_3143.JPG IMG_3144.JPG IMG_3145.JPG

Weigh it. Silver quarters weigh 6.25 gms. The others weigh 5.67 gms.

The proof is in the mint mark, D. Denver does not mint silver coins. Denver does not get silver planchets, so it can't even be an error.

Almost as soon as the State Quarters were introduced, the sleazebag sellers on TV came up with the idea of using lower grade uncirculated coins to create sets of coins plated in silver, gold and platinum and selling them at highly inflated prices. When some the suckers.......er.......I mean buyers realized that they had been taken, many of these coins were dumped back into circulation.

Like the others said, it is just a plated (probably zinc) clad quarter.
