What are you placing your scale on? It needs to be on a very stable flat surface such as a kitchen sink countertop.
As stated makes sure your scale is on a flat surface a normal zinc cent weighs 2.5 so yours is with in tolerance +/-.13 no extra value. JMO Dave
It is on coffee table,and reads 0 before i put the penny on it,it Is the actual penny weight,u can feel the difference when u pick it up thats why i originally weighed it.
It looks like environmental damage. This could result in a little weight loss. In addition, you need to make sure your scale is calibrated and on a level surface or the weights could be slightly off. Finally, since your scale only has 0.1 gram resolution, 2.3 grams on a properly calibrated scale could actually be 2.25-2.35 grams.
