I don't know if this is really an error or not since I don't collect errors. Thought maybe some of you error nuts would like this. Doesn't seem to be far off center so maybe nothing special to you freaks. Anyway, here it is... P.S. I'm just messing around with the nuts and freaks comments. All of us coin collectors are one and the same.
it's a MAD miss aligned die, both sides need to have equal off centering. as far as value I dont think there is much but personally I put them away because who know if one day they will be worth something. probably not though
I once bought a cent folder that didn't have dates beneath the slots. I actually returned it to the bookstore cause I realized when I got home that I didn't know what to do with it. Thinking about going back and getting it to put error cents in it. This would be the first one added.
Errors are fun to look for and it doesnt cost anything to do so, also the added benefit of possibly finding something worth money makes me look at pretty much all coins I get
That coin, IMO, would not be worth saving since it is a common occurrence what with Billion Coin Lincoln Cent manufacturing. An actual off center strike would have more value although with that minute amount, maybe only a buck or two. I'm just saying since I have boxes and boxes of pocket change which will never be anymore than pocket change and a burden to lug around and store. One of these days, it'll all get depositing into a savings or checking account once I can find the time to go through thousands of flips tp pop them all out. My advice is that if you are intent on collecting error's, then make your efforts worth while by studying what it is you happened across and how common it may or may not be depending upon the manufacturing process and what actually caused the error. I made the mistake of purchasing some true off center cents for $5 each and have never been able to sell them. Even for $5. Again, I'm just sayin'
I see what your up to... you just want us to spend them so you can get them. I know your tricks Dewey!
