I found this just now in a roll and this clearly looks like a DD. The shape and alignment of it matches perfectly with the bottom eye lid.
I'm just curious Have you posted a coin yet that others actually agreed was a true find it error of value?
Um, yes, thank you. My curiousity is, why does it seem that everyone is fixed on errors that are IN the books, black and white? Can't you open yourselves up to new findings, isn't that a part of collecting, finding something new? Or does it hurt to much that someone else discovered it and that doesn't set well? I'm not saying it's a DD but more of a question.
Armando, what makes you think it is a DDO rather than a die break, die gouge, die dent or some other anomaly? Honestly, I really think you need to buy yourself a book about Mint errors and learn much more about them. Chris
I'll do that. Is this book at Barnes and Noble? Well, I'm only taking in with what I can see. This anomaly on said coin, by what I can see, is not cut into the coin, it's raised. So I'm thinking, die chip, DD, bubble plating. The reason I asked is because of the area that it's in and size.
Maybe I'm misreading your posts. When I read them it sounds like you announcing a find, not asking questions. As for the above statement I say go blaze a trial of glory. I'm not going to be hating on you or try to hold you back. Go do your thing and find those new finds.
It's probably a plating blister, but hard to tell from the photos. Take a toothpick and poke it. If it collapses then you know that's what it was. Is not, then on to other theories such as a die gouge, etc.
My favorite book on errors is Official Price Guide to Mint Errors, 6th Edition By Alan Herbert. Chris
